Codling Wind Park is a keystone project for Ireland’s energy security and economic growth. It will play a vital role in reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels while creating jobs, supporting regional development, and helping to establish a new offshore wind industry in Ireland.
Codling Wind Park, Ireland’s largest Phase 1 Wind farm, will generate an added economic value of up to €1.4bn for the Irish economy during its development and operational phases.
The project will also support the creation of 2,760 jobs during its development and construction as well as 190 full-time jobs over its 25 years of operations.
During development and construction, Codling Wind Park is forecast to add €435 million to the Irish economy, including €226 million in Wicklow and Dublin.
When operational, the report finds Codling WP will generate an economic value of €39m a year nationally and €975m over 25 years, with €22m of that feeding into the local economy annually. That’s €550m over the project’s lifetime.

Codling Wind Park is the first of Ireland’s Phase One offshore wind projects to develop a dedicated set of socio-economic commitments focused on translating planned investment into benefits for local and national economies.
These commitments underpin the report and set out how Codling intends to support Irish suppliers, workforce development, communities, energy security and long-term regional growth.
