Irish Market Update: Wednesday, July 8th – 14:00 – 16:00

The next webinar in the Enterprise Ireland offshore wind series will take place on Wednesday 8th July between 14:00 and 16:00. In this Irish market update, our speakers include Martin Finucane of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Barry Kilcline of SSE Renewables and Rupert Judson of EDF Renewables. 

Our webinar will include a Q&A session following the presentations:

Barry Kilcline is Director of Development Ireland at SSE Renewables, part of the FTSE-listed SSE plc and the leading developer, owner and operator of renewable energy across Ireland and the UK. Barry has responsibility for development and construction of SSE Renewables’ 1GW-plus pipeline of offshore and onshore wind energy projects around the island of Ireland, including Arklow Bank Wind Park in the Irish Sea. Barry has worked on a number of large capital renewable energy projects for SSE Renewables, the most recent of which is Galway Wind Park, Ireland’s largest windfarm. A graduate of electronic engineering from Trinity College with an MSc from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Barry came to SSE Renewables with significant experience after working with ESB International both in Ireland and internationally.

Rupert Judson is Deputy Project Director – Codling Wind Park. Rupert is an Offshore Development Manager at EDF Renewables and is currently the Deputy Project Director for the Codling Wind Park project.  Rupert is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with 25 years’ experience in the electricity industry.  He has spent the last 10 years with EDF Renewables working on the development and delivery of onshore and offshore wind projects in the UK and Ireland. 

Martin Finucane is the Principal Officer in the International and Offshore Energy Policy Division within the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment. He has responsibility for offshore energy policy development and international energy policy coordination including preparation of the National Energy and Climate Plan. He previously worked as Head of Finance in the Renewable Energy Division in the Department.
