A local community group has launched a new ‘Memory Café’ in Wicklow Town as a key support for people with dementia, their carers and families.Organisers say the Memory Café, which is being supported by Codling Wind Park, will take place once a month in The Pastoral Centre in the town and will be a free, safe and welcoming space for people affected by dementia and their carers and family members.

Codling Wind Park, one of Ireland’s largest offshore wind projects, is set to be the largest energy project ever undertaken in this country. When operational, it will contribute a little more than a quarter of Ireland’s target of 5GW offshore wind.

Excitement is mounting among fifth-year students at Educate Together Secondary School, Wicklow (ETSSW) as they prepare to host a major youth climate conference later this month.The students, who are amongst the first in the country to undertake the subject of Climate Action and Sustainable Development (CASD) for their Leaving Certificate, are finalising preparations for the conference which is entitled ‘Our Climate, Our Future’.

Codling Wind Park says it’s on track to deliver 1.3GW of clean renewable energy. Project confirms it has received Request for further Information and is working through its response The French ambassador describes Codling as “a strategic project for Ireland and for European energy sovereignty”

Last Friday the Engineering Manager for Codling Wind Park, Ed Sly hosted a workshop showcasing the engineering and technical challenges involved in offshore construction.
